Update on May 6: Comm100 Live Chat Agent Console in HTML5 is out of beta. We’ve collected a lot of great feedback from our users during the beta testing period. Thank you very much. In the production release, we’ve made significant improvements to the new HTML5 version (such as making the color palette less bright) so as to deliver a better customer experience.
With the production release, the web version of all users is upgraded to the new HTML5 version automatically. The option to switch back to the old version is removed. At the same time, we have also upgraded the desktop app to the new version. Although the old desktop app can still work, we strongly recommend all users to download the new desktop app. We will stop upgrading or maintaining the old app. New features and improvements will only be introduced to the new app.
One significant event that has happened recently on the internet is that main browsers, including Chrome and Firefox, are stopping their full support for Flash. To respond to this change, we are moving to switch Comm100 Live Chat Agent Console from Flash to HTML5.
HTML5 is the latest version of HTML and is widely accepted as the best HTML standard so far. The benefits of HTML5 include:
To ensure the smooth transition from Flash to HTML5, we will release a beta test version and collect feedback in the coming weeks.
When the beta version is released, you will automatically be switched to the HTML5 version after logging into the web version of Comm100 Live Chat Agent Console. If your browser is out-of-date, we may not be able to make the switch successfully. If that is the case, you need to perform a manual upgrade to your browser, or use the latest Chrome, Firefox or IE.
During the beta testing phase, the Flash and HTML5 versions of the Agent Console will operate in parallel in Comm100. This means you can switch between the two versions seamlessly anytime, and the settings and data in one version will automatically be synchronized to the other.
To make sure you can leave feedback easily, we have implemented a survey form inside the Agent Console. You can click the Feedback button in the lower-left corner to share your comments. Any ideas, questions, or suggestions are highly appreciated and warmly welcomed.
